Her Majesty’s Workout portrays a meeting between two individuals: Queen Elizabeth II and my internal self.
Queen Elizabeth II is one of the most famous and mediatised women in the world. However, she is also renowned for her impenetrable façade, made more potent by the distance created between the media and the monarchy. She is the symbol of constancy. She is unfashionable.
In a video I assembled pictures and footages of the Queen from the beginning of her reign to now. Thinking of the Ethnologist aiming for an objective state of mind to get the most out of the society he studies or reflecting on the way technology operates with its algorithms gathering instantly information without analysing them, this piece is an attempted to be as close as possible to what is the Queen Elizabeth II.
Through accumulation, speed and time the Queen Elizabeth II starts to dance!
