Nina Berclaz is a French-Swiss dancer, choreographer and performance artist. She studied ballet and contemporary dance at the conservatoire of Nîmes and Montpellier in France. In 2013, she graduated from a BA (Hons) in contemporary dance at Trinity Laban conservatoire in London. Nina searches different inputs in her artistical practice and worked with artists coming from various fields such as cinema, fine art, music and dance. In fine art she performed and sang for Sãadane afif, Augustin Maurs and Jean-Pascal Flavien, she was the assistant-operator of Franko B in Because of Love and was the choreographic collaborator of Annette Sonnewend in her video project Tracing the trail (Dance Archiv). As a dancer she worked closely with Vania Gala, Lea Pischke, and she performed for Uri Shafir, Simon Vincenzi, Rahel Vonmoos, Florence Peake and Eve Stainton, Schlomo Lieberman amongst others. In Cinema, she worked with Josephine Decker on her VR film The Nothing is Coming and for the filmmaker and musician Leila Albayaty. Nina has been presenting her own works at DanceUK national choreographers conference at Sadlers Wells, The Bonnie Bird Theatre in London, Swallowsfeet Festival 2013 and 2015 in Brighton, at Ada Studio and Laborgras in Berlin, at Studio Bagouet in Montpellier and also at the museum of Carré d’Art in Nîmes and Panancée in Montpellier. She is currently in her last year of an MA in choreographic studies, in master exerce at ICI-CCN in Montpellier.
